People think Burbank is a quiet suburbia just over the hill from Hollywood, but the city has a very dark side. Nellie May Madison shot her husband in 1934 and became the first woman to be condemned to death in California. The brutal 1953 murder of Mable Monohan inspired an Oscar-winning movie but didn’t save Barbara Graham from the gas chamber. The “Dating Game Killer” and “Night Stalker” Richard Ramirez hunted for victims in Burbank too. The archives reveal kidnappings, robberies and unsolved murders of detectives and secret gamblers. Do you want to walk the night in “beautiful downtown Burbank”?
