Where can you go if you want to dine with the devil or drink spirits with spirits? James T. Bartlett, true crime writer and author of the Gourmet Ghosts alternative guides to LA, plus an occasional guest on “Ghost Adventures” and “The UnXplained,” will return to the SFVHS to take you on a journey around the Valley and beyond to tell you creepy stories of ghosts, murders and mysteries at bars, restaurants, hotels and other places you can visit – if you dare!
In 2012 he published Gourmet Ghosts – Los Angeles an alternative guide to the history and ghost stories behind some of the city’s oldest bars, restaurants and hotels. His 2016 sequel Gourmet Ghosts 2 focused on true crimes that took place at more of L.A.’s notable locations and eateries. His 2023 edition is a pocket version – Gourmet Ghosts-Murder, Mayhem & Strange Stories of Los Angeles.
